Get ready to turn up side down!
With the inversions we literally turn ourselves upside down and give ourselves a moment to look at things from a completely different perspective. Clarity is the result, because we are automatically present and forget everything that just buzzed around in the head. Energy is released, a new spirit is awakened and an increased oxygen supply is created.
In this class we first warm up with a Vinyasa Flow, wake up and strengthen the relevant parts of the body before we try different inversions at the wall and with the help of a partner.
Why are we practicing inversions?
First and foremost they are a lot of fun. But they also have many positive effects on your body. Positions like Handstand, forearm balance or headstand have an activating and balancing effect on body and mind, because they promote blood circulation, calm the nervous system and balance the hormonal system.
When the spine is correctly aligned, this has a relieving and toning effect, especially in the lumbar spine.
Furthermore, the cardiovascular system and the leg veins are relieved, the entire body can realign itself and thus regain new energy.
In addition, the inversions not only strengthen the muscles but also the self-confidence and promote reduction of fear and stress.
If you practice yoga for a while and would like to start practicing inversions such as headstand, fore arm balance or handstand, but are afraid or don’t know how to start, this class is perfect for you.
If you already have an inversion practice, feel free to join anyway to get more confident in them and get some tips on how moving on.
